Carra Auto LLC (“Carra Auto,” “we,” “us”) operates carraauto.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”).
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request an offer or contact us, we collect:
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address and ZIP code
- Vehicle details: VIN, year, make, model, mileage, condition, title status, accident history, number of keys, and any notes you add
- Photos of your vehicle you choose to upload
- Anything else you send us by phone, email or text
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and service providers record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We temporarily use your IP address to limit spam submissions to our offer form. We may use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, security, and website analytics.
Information from others. To evaluate your vehicle and complete a purchase, we may obtain vehicle history and market data, and payoff information from your lender or leasing company with your authorization.
How we use your information
- To review your vehicle and prepare and send you an offer
- To contact you about your request by phone, text or email
- To complete a purchase, including title transfer, lien payoff and required paperwork
- To operate, secure and improve our website and prevent fraud and spam
- To comply with legal, tax, licensing and recordkeeping obligations
We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as needed to:
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email delivery and website analytics providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data
- Lenders, leasing companies, auction or wholesale partners, and government agencies (such as the DMV) when needed to complete a transaction you agree to
- Professional advisers, or as required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights and the safety of others
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
How long we keep it
If you request an offer but do not sell to us, we keep your information for up to 24 months so we can follow up and refer back to your vehicle, then delete it. If you sell us a vehicle, we keep transaction records for as long as required by law.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of parties we disclose it to
- Access a copy of the specific personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

We will verify your identity by matching information you provide against what we hold, and we will respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority. We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing.
Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); customer records and commercial information (vehicle details and any transaction); internet activity (website usage); geolocation at the ZIP-code level; and visual information (vehicle photos). We collect these from you, your devices and the sources described above, for the purposes described in this policy.
Cookies and analytics
Our site uses cookies needed for it to function and may use analytics services that set cookies to help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
